Strathmore Villa
Villa exterior:The entrance from the street leads through a small tropical garden, where there is a rim-flow pool and sun terrace with steps down to the front door, as well as a gas barbeque/braai and outdoor dining table. There are also two good-sized balconies on the middle level of the house, one of which has mountain views and the other partial sea-views.
Villa interior:The villa itself is on three levels. The ground floor comprises the open plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, as well as three of the bedrooms. Two of these bedrooms (one with twin beds, one with queen size double bed) share a good-sized bathroom (with bath, shower, toilet and two basins); the third (with queen size double bed) has its own, smaller bathroom (with shower, basin and toilet) and is located slightly on its own, next to the laundry room (with washing machine and tumble dryer).
The middle level of the villa has a second, stylishly furnished lounge area that opens onto a balcony above the front garden looking up towards Lion’s Head mountain and also onto a small terrace with views towards the sea and mountains. There are two more bedrooms on this level, the master bedroom with queen size bed, TV and ensuite bathroom (bath, shower, 2 basins, toilet, bidet) and a smaller bedroom with queen size bed. The sixth bedroom (with queen size bed) is up on the third floor, with en suite bathroom (shower, toilet and basin). The house has several balconies and exposed staircases without hand-rails so may not be suitable for families with young children.
Villa location:The popular beach resort of Camps Bay is in a stunning location on the lower slopes of Table Mountain and the “Twelve Apostles” mountains as they stretch down to meet the dramatic Atlantic Ocean coast-line. With a long sandy beach lined with palm trees and many trendy open-air bars and seafood restaurants, Camps Bay is hard to beat as a holiday location and is well placed for opportunities to explore the many cultural, shopping and other attractions of Cape Town city centre and the V&A Waterfront area just a 10-15 minute drive away.
Further afield, there are many incredibly beautiful places to visit within one to two hour’s drive from Camps Bay including the spectacular Cape of Good Hope and the internationally acclaimed Cape winelands set amongst the picturesque mountains around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
